The M-2 is all about style and tone. This is the second generation of the beloved National Reso-Phonic M-1 that was made from 1990 to 1994, and it’s better than ever. Featuring vintage SingleCone styling, the M-2’s body is composed of mahogany, which affords a distinctive sweet sound. The laminated top and back are mated with solid mahogany sides, setting off the ribbed sieve resonator coverplate. The deluxe mahogany neck features a ebony fretboard with ivoroid binding and graceful diamond-shaped mother-of-pearl position markers. The headstock is highlighted by engraved pearloid overlay and vintage-style engraved, open-gear tuners.

It boasts the traditional styling and resonator sound of a classic metal SingleCone, but with the beloved warmth and depth of tone that a wood-bodied guitar adds. A big plus is that the M-2 weighs some three pounds less than its metal-bodied counterpart, yet it gives up nothing in sound.
