Eastman MD515/v-AMB F-Style F-Hole Mandolin Antique Amber Varnish Finish
Setting the Standard
A bluegrass icon, and for good reason. F-style or Florentine mandolins are the epitome of fine craftsmanship and beauty. The ornate carved scroll adds mass to the instrument that helps create balance for a standing player.
Find your place in the mix
Known for having more treble attack and percussive "chop" than oval hole instruments, F-hole mandolins are the first choice in ensemble settings where volume competition can be an issue.
The Varnish Sings
A thin layer of varnish allows for a more resonant, and wide-open sound, giving these instruments a voice all their own. A six step process starting with a basecoat application to fill the grain, moving to color application, concluding with a french polish, resulting in a finish that’s softer than lacquer, with a smoother tone.
Our handcrafted mandolins pay tribute to traditional build methods and body styles while delivering a balanced and refined tone.
All of our instruments are built in workshops in Beijing by an expert team of luthiers and craftsmen.
