A special acoustic version of the L-5C was designed for comedian George Gobel in 1958. This guitar featured a thinner body, cross bracing, and a cherry red finish. From this unique one-off sprang a production model designated the L-5CT. Between 1959 and 1961, several variations of this guitar (it was offered in both electric and acoustic versions and was also offered with either a standard 24 3/4" scale or long 25 1/2" scale fingerboard) were produced. The Historic Collection brings both the electric and acoustic versions of the L-5CT to today's player.
